Our Story

Hi, I'm Lorraine, the owner and founder of Chook Scraps.

What started as a small home-based business, fuelled by a lifelong love of crafting, has grown into a welcoming creative space where makers can find inspiration, quality supplies, and a friendly face.

Like many crafters, I've always believed there's something special about making things by hand. Whether it's quilting, papercrafting, knitting, crochet, sewing, or mixed media, creativity has a wonderful way of bringing joy, reducing stress, and creating lasting memories. I wanted to build a place where people could share that passion, discover new techniques, and enjoy creating together.

At Chook Scraps, we're passionate about offering carefully selected products from brands we know and trust. You'll find a wide range of quilting fabrics, yarns, papercraft supplies, scrapbooking and cardmaking products, sewing notions, mixed media products, and plenty of new arrivals to keep your creativity flowing.

One of the things I enjoy most is helping customers find exactly what they need—whether that's choosing the perfect fabric, matching colours, discovering a new paper collection, or simply chatting about their latest project. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing someone leave the shop excited to start creating.

Chook Scraps is about more than selling craft supplies. It's about building a creative community. Through workshops, craft days, demonstrations, and everyday conversations in the shop, I've met so many wonderful people who share a love of making. Watching friendships grow and confidence blossom is one of the best parts of what I do.
